It's hard to believe it has been ten years since the club got started. Back in 2012 when the Model S was first introduced few people knew what a Tesla was. People would ask "what kind of car is that?" or "who makes it?". There were just a few thousand Teslas on the road when David Guggenheim started the club with a meeting at his home in 2013.
Tesla is now delivering hundreds of thousands of cars every quarter and has expanded its selection of models with more on the way. One cannot drive any distance in San Diego without seeing several Teslas sharing the road. Often there are several traversing the same intersection.
Join us as we celebrate ten years as a club and reminisce about our experiences as part of the EV revolution. We've had road trips, picnics, poker runs, guest speakers, dinners, supercharger meetups, car museum tours, and other get-togethers. But that all pales compared to having a Tesla as a daily driver.
We have arranged to have fellow Tesla owner and YouTube host Ricky Roy talk to us about how Tesla has helped lead the adoption of EVs. His videos focus on technologies that help us go green and help the environment. Several have featured Tesla and its products. He has teamed up with Fully Charged Live and co-presented a review of the Model S Plaid with Jack Scarlett. He's a hands-on guy with lots to say.
We'll be ordering off the menu for dinner (no host). The group seemed to enjoy their food when we met there back in 2019 for a talk by Ben Sullins .
