Poker runs are one of our club's most exciting events! We're having another one. Traditional poker runs take you through a tour of checkpoints where you are handed a playing card. With ours, you draw a virtual card via your car console (or smart phone).
Checkpoints are all around the county. You'll plot your course through locations where you will "draw cards" to make up a five card poker hand. Each of the checkpoints offer take-out food. Our last stop will be for a picnic lunch and to play our "hands". And, it's okay if you don't know how to play Poker. The Group will help!
Poker Run - On the afternoon before, we will e-mail a full set of instructions to those that have registered. This will include a list of over twenty checkpoints and specify a final destination. Plan your trip from home through five of the checkpoints ending at the rally point for a noon lunch. At each checkpoint you will use a web app to "draw" a card - like collecting Pokemon. The app uses your GPS location to tell which checkpoint you are visiting. Your license plate identifies your car.
Lunch - We’ll finish at a park where we can have our rally/lunch and eat the food you brought or picked up along the way. It has lots of open space and a playground for the kids. Here we will announce the winning hand.
