The tram takes about ten minutes to reach the top (rotating as it goes). The views are fantastic and multiple outdoor activities are available at the top including two restaurants, observation decks, a natural history museum, two documentary theaters, a gift shop and over 50 miles of hiking trails. Note that while Palm Springs is warm (70°), it is about 30° cooler on top (expecting a high of 40°) so come prepared.
Visit the tramway web site for full information.
The Peaks Restaurant (at the top) provides spectacular views with delectable food.
Palm Springs is a popular destination year round so we tried to pick one of the "quieter" weekends for better hotel prices. We will be staying at the Hilton Palm Springs and other motels. (Check Trivago if you don't have a room yet.)
Billy Reed's is a famous and popular Palm Springs restaurant since 1975.
There are superchargers in Indio, Cabazon and Temecula depending upon your route home. Also several area motels have Tesla destination chargers if you choose to stay somewhere other than the Hilton. Visit Plugshare for a map of Tesla chargers (set filters for just Tesla chargers).
