First Meeting

Location:
Guggenheim home
La Jolla, CA 92037

Synopsis
In the words of club founder David Guggenheim -

“I originally put down my deposit for a Tesla Model S on March 3, 2012, but wanted the Red 85, so I kept delaying delivery for over a year. Finally on Monday, April 15, 2013, I was informed that my car had arrived at the San Diego Service Center. But since it was the first Multi-Coat Red in San Diego, and no one had seen this new color, the Service Center wanted it to be perfect before delivery. They knew I was going to be showing it off, so they hired Wes Walz of Elite Finish Detailing to do some paint correction. I received my multi-coat Red 85 on Saturday April 20.

In the meantime, I had been surfing the web looking for a Tesla Club here in San Diego. Everyone was saying we should have a club, but no one wanted to take the initiative. Since I was receiving the first MC Red in San Diego, I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to show off this new color. Thus, on Sunday, April 21, the day after I took delivery, we had the first meeting of the San Diego Tesla Club at my house in La Jolla. We had 12 Model Ss and 2 Roadsters. A total of 16 members attended."
